Hand-Building a 41ft wooden double canoe as a collaborative base for research, storytelling, and community engagement.

The Floating Stories Lab (FSL), a non-profit association (Association Loi 1901), is a community of volunteers creating a research and storytelling vessel, a 41ft Polynesian-inspired wooden catamaran that will become a collaborative base for research, storytelling, and community engagement. Fundamentally multidisciplinary, the Floating Stories Lab is dedicated to making ocean knowledge more accessible, building bridges between communities, researchers, creatives, and policymakers, and inspiring regenerative solutions to the ecological and social challenges of our time.

Touring Art x Science Exhibition

The 'Table of Curiosity' is a travelling exhibition built from the body of the Goyen River. This is the site where our citizen science initiative, Regenerative Tides: Sailing for Solutions (ReTISS), has mapped abandoned fibreglass (GRP) boats and their slow decay into coastal waters — the table reproduces that geography at a scale visitors can stand around and touch.
